Day 9, October 17, 2008

We woke up to a rainy morning in Norfolk, Nebraska. No continental breakfast incidents today.... Happy Birthday Austin!!! He's a teenager today!! Really neat to see the farm land in the middle of the United States. It goes on and on and on. From soybeans to corn fields. Mostly corn fields is what we saw today. We saw a New Holland dealership and just had to stop. It was neat to see Austin enjoy himself. He collects New Holland equipment for those of you who didn't know that. We really wanted to tour a John Deere Plant, but they informed us today all children must be 12 years old or older to tour. They gave us directions to the John Deere Pavilion which we can see alot of John Deere history and the whole family can to in. It's in Moline, Illinois. We crossed the Missouri river again. It's really big. We will probably go there later on in the trip. Headed south on Hwy 81 to Columbus, Nebraska then East on Hwy 92 to Wahoo. Not Yahoo!!!!! Even though we all yelled "wahoooooo". We were a little silly today as we have been in our truck for "9" days. We then went south Hwy 77 to I 80. We stopped at the Stragetic Air and Space Museum. It was an awesome museum. One of Austin's favorite things are airplanes, the older style ones. He was running around taking pictures of them all. It was a very nice museum. We spent about 3 hours there. So awesome! We then came to Omaha, NE but we found the motel in Counsil Bluffs, Iowa. Wow! We were in 2 states in one day. Austin had a birthday party he will never forget...... We secretly bought a cake and candles at Walmart and hid them. We have a foldable table that we brought from home in the trailer. So we made Austin stand outside the trailer and we set it up and stood around the table inside the trailer. We had some small touch lights on as it was dark outside. So we lit the candles and began to sing... he was very happy. We had a fun party in our trailer. That's a first.

Dear Wandering Knisleys!
What an amazing trip! We are so blessed to live in a country that has so much majesty. I've enjoyed traveling with you via your blog. If you head to Boston, let me know. I have traveled there several times and can give you some places to see. If you make to Pensacola, the Navy base there has the most awesome aviation museum you could ever imagine, I even liked it! We miss you all very much but are so happy you are able to do this while your family is still intact. We'll be praying for your safety. Can't wait to see the slideshow or will there be a Knisley Family's Big Adventure movie coming to a theater soon?
God bless you all and may He keep you safe.
