Day 10, October 18, 2008

What a wonderful Saturday it was. We woke up in Council Bluffs, Iowa and went back to the Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom Zoo. What a big wonderful zoo. We saw reptiles, elephants, monkeys, panthers, tigers, gorillas, giraffes, wild animals we never knew existed. The aquarium there was fabulous! Fish, stingrays and even sharks swimmed "over" our heads. So, so awesome to see God's creation so close. Then they had several smaller aquariums that had such small sea creatures that you could hardly see them. So awe struck to see some of the smallest of God's creation. Another amazing thing was they had "bubble" windows in the gorilla areas where you could get real close. They say that it makes it look to the animals that "we" are on display for them. What a concept. We caught a tiger yawning. We really had fun. After 5 hours of seeing the zoo, we left Omaha on I 80 East and headed to Hwy 25 to Hwy 44 east then to Hwy 169 to Fort Dodge. Getting off Hwy 80 with all it's busy traffic, we wanted to see more rural country. Those little side roads are more fun and have more neat things to see. Like in Minburn, IA we saw a tractor parade. It was coming right at us. That was neat. We saw many churches in the middle of corn fields, combines and corn, combines and corn and more combines and corn. It was very pretty. NO mountains at all. Not as far as you can see. We went into Fort Dodge, and found a place to stay. This morning we are heading out to find a church to worship in. May He guide us there. Thank you all again for the uplifting emails. We are all fine. Leighton picked a head cold, so he is "quarantined". Really being "guarantined" is a good thing. That means you get a bed all to yourself and get special treatment. We unexpectedly got to use another "commercial" dryer and the one down the hall suddenly quick working. I thought how we would get our clothes dry. The desk clerk kindly let us use the motels big one. Whew!
