Day 28, November 5, 2008

We woke up in Enid, OK and the motel didn't have a continential breakfast, they had one but you had to pay$8/person, so we went to an IHOP. There waiting for our food Leighton saw something very rare...A John Deere gater at the McDonald's drive thru!! What chuckles that brought to our table. We then headed west from Enid on Hwy 60 all the way through Texas to Amarillo. The western side of OK was rolling hills with some kind of scrub brush. There was a large area of OK that had 11" of rain which flooded towns and farms. Due to the flood thousands of gophers moved up into peoples yards, businesses and driveways. We saw cattle and goats, some oil wells. Getting in to Pampa, Texas we saw several oil wells, refineries and oil train cars. We saw some cotton and milo farming. We then headed west on Hwy 40 into New Mexico. Leighton drove quite awhile. We went from grassland to open sagebrush country the rest of the day. We stopped at Moriarty, New Mexico. Just outside of Albuquerque. Long day of driving. Thankful the Lord has really been with us. We looked at the news and saw many snow storms are just behind us. We have had great travel weather.
