Day 25, November 2, 2008

We woke up in Florence, Alabama to a warmer morning. There were patches of fog on Hwy 72 that we took to Corinth, Mississippi. We entered Mississippi! It was still more trees, different kinds though. It was pretty. We were really hoping to find some farm ground soon. It was Sunday morning, so we were looking for a church to attend. As we were coming off a mountain, we saw a steeple so we got off that exit and looked for it. It was Oakland Baptist Church. We were greeted by an usher named Mike who introduced us to Benny and Sue and several others. We wanted to attend Sunday school too. It was a larger church one that our family has not seen before. Benny and Sue helped us all find the right Sunday school classes. We met Mr. and Mrs. Dempsey also. The kids enjoyed Sunday school. Leighton and Wade met several young men there. Some of them were homeschooled too and really enjoyed their fellowship. Many, many people greeted us and made us feel welcomed. After Sunday School we attended the worship service. It was a fully orchastrated choir singing. It was so wonderful to see so many people singing and experience a service like that. The message was in Deut. 30, we live or die by the choices we make. In conclusion the Pastor encouraged us to vote for the candidate who would line up most biblically and to pray for our leaders and citizens as they go vote. After the service, Seth, Jake and Kody met with us in the parking lot and we fellowshipped with them. We then headed to more of Mississippi. On Hwy 72 we headed south on 15 to New Albany. After that we headed on Hwy 78 to Memphis. We crossed the great Mississippi River into Arkansas. Going into Arkansas on Hwy 64 and stopped at Wynne. We saw rice, wheat, corn and cotton farms. It was so good to see open land.

Hey!! This is Seth Bragg! You met us at Oakland Baptist Church in Corinth, MS! I hope y'all are having a wonderful day on the road! We enjoyed meeting you so much and your trip has been such an encouragement to my family. My mom has always dreamed of taking us on a trip to see all of our great country. We have homeschooled for 13 years and many times I have heard her say that. She was so thrilled to see the Lord blessing y'all with that dream. We have followed your blog every day since we met you! Hope we can keep in touch! God Bless you and keep you safe! love, Seth
